Milissa's Birthday into Christ!

12/12/24 Life is so full here in God's new placement of us in Carmel Valley, CA, since February of 2024. We now live two hours north of our last residence and community in Atascadero, CA, managing and living on a 4,000 acre ranch. We believe this job, and those we are discipling in the area, are a big part of why we broke down in our van off Highway 1 near Big Sur, May of 2022 (right over the Santa Lucia Mountain range of where we live now). This new job has kept us super busy this last year, as it has been a huge learning curve. We have also been discipling a few key people this season that we have been pouring into and here is the story of one of them.
After Skye got let go of in his Paso Robles, CA ranch hand job, (July 2023) the Lord led him to take us on a few big mission trips in our van, before resuming more tent-making. This 50th birthday Luke 10 trip was unforgettable and the people in it are still a significant part of our lives!

8/6/23 Birthday at the Pearl chapel, in Shell Beach, CA
8/11/23 We headed north up Highway 1 to stop at our favorite health food store in Felton. There we met a new sister Erin, who was a missionary and disciple of Jesus, living by faith with no salary at the time. She had a very high paying real estate job and felt the Holy Spirit led her to live by faith as she did outreach and discipled others. She hung out with me for the evening, while Skye had dinner with our friend Rod and we parked in her driveway for the night. So fun!

8/12/23 Saturday morning, the three of us decided to go for a hike up at a very crowded parking lot, which was a challenge for our van with a six foot extended bike rack on the back. Skye was being guided by a strangers help and upon their direction, he backed up with the bikes, hitting the grill of this pretty nice white car. Immediately, Erin started to pray over the car "JESUUUSSS" over and over again as she often says. I decided, instead of agreeing with fear and anger, that I would join Erin in faith over it. The owner of the car was not around, so we left a note on the car with what happened and our phone number.
As we got back to our van to leave, Skye got a text from the owner of the car saying that his brother-in-law had already hit the same exact spot already, so unless his front bumper fell off as he drove off, it really was no big deal to him and to not worry about it at all. WOAH! We jumped for joy with our friend Erin as she prayed in so much faith that day. Can you believe it?
Saying goodbye to Erin, we drove up the beautiful coast on Highway 1 just a bit to Davenport, where we pulled over on a side street to sleep overnight. Little did we know what God had in store for us the next morning.

8/13/23 After waking up, we pulled into this parking lot at Greyhound Rock Beach to make some morning coffee. Skye went out into the parking lot and was gone for nearly an hour. This parking lot happened to be the overnight spot for several homeless people living in their vehicles and travelers passing through to take in this beautiful cliff vista and hike to the beach. Skye asks me if I'd come pray for this couple with him and meet this homeless preacher-like man named Lee, who has lived in this parking lot for nearly 30 years. Lee wanted us to pray for a friend of his named Milissa, who later pulled up in her truck with her two dogs. We chatted for a bit and soon into the conversation it was apparent that Milissa was super ready for a touch from God on her life. As we prayed for her, the tears wouldn't stop streaming down her face. She had been newly homeless for just over a year and had really struggled with unforeseen trauma living out of her truck. She was ready to be met by Jesus and she wanted to repent and be baptized. Shepherd Lee, had been looking after her in the parking lot and showing the love of Jesus to her for months.

Skye prays over a homeless man. Our friend Erin, with the white ball cap, that we just met yesterday, drove down to help!!!
We called Erin to drive to meet us again and pray with us over this couple to receive the Holy Spirit, who also had stopped into the parking lot that morning. He had just been baptized recently in water and they were hungry for more....who knew they would've been kick-started into baptizing Milissa. Erin helped Rebecca pray through repentance, forgiveness and deliverance with Milissa. PLEASE WATCH our Youtube video below for the full story.

12/12/24 Since this trip, we and some of our supporters, have come alongside Milissa in so many areas of her life, including when she got her teeth pulled, providing a hotel for her and her dogs during that time. Since then, we've supported and arranged some teeth implants, spent hours of encouragement on the phone and visiting her. As of October, she is now settling into a home after much struggle and endurance. PRAISE THE LORD!
We helped her unpack, set up her bed and provided groceries for her new fridge, which she said through tears has never been so full in all her life. Lord, give her strength for all the tasks to come and the healing she needs. She needs two major hip surgeries and uses a walker or a cane. Can you imagine getting in and out of the back of a pick-up truck under those circumstances every night and morning rain or shine? The Lord is working to restore all things to her, including healing the trauma and pain in her heart. She was a former ski instructor in Tahoe, is quite an animal enthusiast and did elder care-giving before. She is a survivor and a persevering soul who we love very much and are glad to have as our new sister!! We're working towards getting her truck back in shape with our great supporters donations too! As obedient believers come together, we will see homeless people coming off the streets and saved one by one. If anyone wants to help Milissa, please contact us or donate below, as her needs are great!
