5/20/22 Visiting with Skye's sister, Papa Vern & others

5/20/22
After sleeping at the sprinter van yard for a couple of nights, we realize that since the part didn't come in (massive shipping delays for this industry) and it's a weekend, we should take the weekend to go visit Skye's 94 year old Dad in the greater San Jose area. The West Coast sprinter mechanic rented us his personal vehicle for a couple days to take the journey. After all, the following weekend we were committed to help at an event in San Diego.
We arrived at Skye‘s sisters' beautiful historical Asian home where we stayed in her separate guest room. We felt so blessed to be here with family and have some time together.

We got a call our van parts came yesterday, but they are still not able to get it started so they’re cleaning the clogged injectors. Later we found out that one of them turned out to be broken. Trusting God has us covered and that we just get a little extra time with Skye's Dad. We’ve had wonderful moments with Papa Vern; hearing and asking questions about old memories, funniest moments, singing praise songs together, playing his favorite rummy 500, playing violin songs created by the Holy Spirit, and having wonderful prayer times. We've also shared the gospel with people on the streets and in storefronts in the local town area: Marvin, a 92 yr old man who’s brother is born again who keeps telling him the same things we did. He gave us a hug after we prayed for him. Luis, works at a skincare store who is Puerto Rican and was raised Catholic. After sharing our testimonies of what God had done in our lives and how he freed us from our life of sin (including immorality), he on his own expressed that he believed his sexuality wasn’t right. He was not quite ready to turn away from his sin but now knows, from the good news we shared, clearly the steps to take to be made right with God. We shared how much God loved him and hugged him on our way out. After our long talk with Luis, we then met and prayed for Lilia outside the Redemption store (which Skye felt led to go in). Lilia shared with us how she had encountered the Holy Spirit, received the gift of tongues and her life was forever changed. She told us how she was a single Mom raising her two girls for the Lord. When we prayed for her, we believe she got some healing from her past. We also encouraged one another in our private prayer languages given as a gift by the Holy Spirit. She was so blessed by our 45 minute conversation and prayer time, after we exchanged contact information, she blessed us with $100 bill. That was a BIG amount coming from a single Mom! Lord, please bless her 1000 fold. We've learned to accept, as we know and have experienced that there is a blessing in giving. We hadn't even mentioned anything about our current situation with our van breaking down, she just wanted to bless us.
