Being Skye's Help "Meet"!

Winter 2023: We are loving our country road in Atascadero, CA. The winter was very wet. LOTS of rain and flooding and we were often diverting water inside and outside our little home.

When praying and listening into what God had for me, Rebecca, in this season while Skye worked full time, He led me to Psalm 128:1-6. Some notes I took in my journal from the Bible commentary on that passage were,"By the blessing of God, the godly shall get an honest livelihood. It is as much a mercy as a duty with quietness to work and eat our own bread. And they shall enjoy what they get. Fearing the Lord and walking in His ways, are the only happy persons." vs. 3 "Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around the table."

Keil and Dlitzsch Bible commentary says, "The figure of the vine is admirably suited to the wife, who is a shoot or sprig of the husband, and stands in need of the man's support as the vine needs a stick or the wall of a house (pergola). The vine in the corner, nook, the background, the privacy of the house where the housewife, who is not to be seen much out of doors, leads a quiet life, entirely devoted to the happiness of her husband and her family. She's flourishing within the house dwelling."

I'm fully surrendered to being Skye's Help "Meet", meeting his needs and helping him wherever I can. There is so much peace in that. I've always striven and tried to take the lead in how we'd earn an income and pushed so hard to make it happen. The book below, has had a huge positive effect on our marriage. I highly recommend it! For the last six months, our routine has been to get up at 6am with Skye, get him fueled up with breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks for the day and dinner when he returns. The rest of the day, after devotionals, is dedicated to shopping, cleaning, supplying the house, finding our new car, places to live and rent, praying for him, spiritual warfare over his work situation, getting us set up with health insurance, dentist appointments and teaching music lessons. As you all know, life's duties take a lot of time.

I also continued to disciple some women on the phone, went to the Healing Rooms in Atascadero to meet other women and to receive prayer. I got involved with a Women's Bible Study for a couple months, with Skye's manager, where they were studying Acts. I shared stories and showed how it can be REAL today, but they weren't super open and it was soon not a place for me to go anymore. They had a self-defense class at the church I attended, but it had Buddhist teachings about meditation at the end and the book the guy promoted was called, "Fear is a Gift". The Bible has 366 times it says to Fear not... and to fear Him and not man!!
One great challenge I have encountered, especially over the last six months, has been becoming blind with a thick cataract in my right eye, confirmed by an ophthalmologist in March. Surgery was the only option for the doctor. We went straight to prayer and studying more about God's scriptures on healing. We watched Aliss Cresswell's videos and reread some of her book. She's a person who's had 1000's of miraculous healings happen with her prayers and faith in Jesus. Next up was studying Curry Blake's videos from the materials on John G Lakes ministries about healing.

March 4th we went to a Curry Blake, Healing Conference in LA. My eye was prayed for but didn't receive it's healing yet. On the way back we talked to Todd, our 70 year old son in the Lord from Hawaii. We prayed for him as he was in excruciating pain and for God to touch him or give him his new glorified body. He died that night. So glad we had gone to care for him in August when he requested it. God's timing is perfect.

An amazing family; Rob, Danielle, their sons Peter and James opened their home and gorgeously remodeled vintage trailer to us for the weekend in LA. We had never met them before but we were introduced through the wonderful body of believers connected to The Last Reformation ministry.
Upon returning, we sought hard after God in scriptures on healing, doing Curry Blake's Mind Renewal program, as well as his Divine Healing Technician training. Great material!
In the meantime we took a trip up to Monterey and Los Gatos to visit Papa Vern. Such a blessing being here that we can do that. After a long walk catching up with our married friends Mary Anne and Juan (new believers we've been discipling) and hearing about each others lives over lunch, we asked to pray together with them before we left, as we sat on the back of our 4runner. Mary Anne had been dealing with some very hard situations with her life and was so sick and tired of fear and control related to her past experiences. Sitting there on the back of our 4runner, she started calling out and casting the demons off HERSELF and we joined in rebuking them off. While we were praying and listening to the Lord to speak into her life, Skye had a vision of her sitting as a little girl in a field, a circle of yellow flowers and she was a happy little girl. She said she felt the deep grief leave her that day forever. The Lord is faithful to the prayers of His followers and she got freedom. Juan and MaryAnne had the most beautiful embrace after. That was freedom happening right before our eyes. Jesus came to set the (us) captives free and its a wonderful thing!

Beautiful hills on the way to Cambria for a day trip. And dear friends Juan and Mary Anne visit and freedom in Monterey!
We contacted a 30 year long friend of Skye and mine, Gretchen, who lives near us in Morro Bay. So rewarding to connect and share our faith with her and hear about her life!! We've since had many get togethers and shared meals often. She told us about this great little Christian small chapel in Shell Beach that has community potlucks on Thursday. We are going to check it out... to be continued.....
