We are learning about what it is to be a disciple of Christ.  It seems that the Holy Spirit leads us into situations where we need to be truly present with someone and take time investing in their lives. There is pain and loss in everyone's lives, which is discovered, when a person is given enough love and presence from another, to know they are cared for.  Often times seeds of God's love and His purposes need to be planted before we can receive all of God's love and goodness in our own hearts. Those who believe and have been renewed by the Father, are the sowers of His seeds, commissioned by Jesus Himself. You don’t need to live in a van to do this or have any special credentials.  From fisherman, tax collector to former prostitute, all who are called by God are made His hands and feet to the world.

We’ve often been disappointed when others close to us don’t take the time to ask us how we are doing, show interest or take time to understand what we’re going through. Have you ever felt that way? It is a choice to care about the lives of others, to make their lives our interest. There have been others who have poured tremendously into our lives and have made an impact, sacrificing their time and energy to show us the love of Jesus.  Those are the encounters and relationships that have helped us to grow.  Can we do that for others?

Jesus said it is better to give then to receive and put others needs above our own. That is so backwards to our worlds ways and the life of selfish pursuits. The only way we are able to do this is through surrendering our very lives to Christ and being His servant, for like the Bible says; His Kingdom is coming and He (The King) is coming back. We, personally, have wasted a lot of years living for ourselves and our own pleasures and desires (serving our own kingdom and ultimately the kingdom of darkness). It left us empty. When Christ returns and every knee bows before him we want him to say; "well done my good and faithful servant."
