Winter Mission Trip to Ellensburg, WA.

We went from Felton, CA to Ellensburg, WA, to Seattle, to Bainbridge Island...then to Dallas, Oregon (next blog), to the Kitsap Peninsula, to Felton, CA and finally to Paso Robles, CA. Will catch you up in the next two blogs.
God had a mission for us to move our lives from California (still without our van) and serve and do "tent-making" in Ellensburg, Wa as house parents to a few autistic men. It wasn't an easy decision to make, nor to move our lives there and we knew there would be a big learning curve on the job, but we believe this was the next thing God had for us. We were excited that we would have one week on as houseparents and one week off to do ministry in Rhino.
But, our time there ended up being more of an opportunity of letting go of expectations and desires and how to handle when dreams don't happen. We got to trust once again, our mighty God, in adversity. When the disappointment hit and we were angry and hurt, we picked ourselves up, voiced the loss of this really exciting opportunity to God in lament and were praising Him ANYWAY with shouts and songs of praise. Trusting God's plans are good for us and that He will help us through, was where our faith was growing. We saw that once we forgave, released it to God, the joy of the Lord was our strength...even in the trials and the unknown future.
